Representatives from Parkinson’s Action Network participated in one of the largest Partners in Parkinson’s events to date earlier this month in Edison, New Jersey.

The event, held on December 5 at the New Jersey Convention Center, attracted 958 attendees from the New York/New Jersey metro area, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Massachusetts, and upstate New York. Some even traveled from as far as Florida, California and Arizona to participate.

Sessions including The Many Faces of PD, Seeing a Movement Disorder Specialist, Parkinson’s Research, Caring for your Mind and Body, and I Am Still Wondering provided an opportunity for attendees to learn more and get answers to important questions about Parkinson’s, while the Resource Fair gave them a chance to connect with community resources and help build their care team.

PAN New Jersey State Director Myra Hirschhorn, Assistant State Director Lisa Griffin, and Assistant State Director Joe Narciso were on hand to talk with attendees about PAN’s work, and the team had great success in signing up new folks as PAN E-Advocates.

Hirschhorn shared glowing praise for the event, saying, “Kudos to the Michael J. Fox Foundation and Abbvie for providing such conferences without charge, thus allowing so many to have the opportunity to learn so much! Moderator Dave Iverson continues to outdo himself in helping everyone to gain valuable information.”

Thanks to the PAN New Jersey team for representing us so well!

2016 Partners in Parkinson’s events will be held in Phoenix, Tampa, Birmingham, Oakland, Cincinnati and New York City. More information and free registration for all of these events is available on the Partners in Parkinson’s website.
